Just finished your degree and looking for a start in banking? Canara Bank has opened its Graduate Apprentice 2026-27 drive, and the Canara Bank apprentice 2026 Tamil Nadu quota is 391 seats. This guide explains who can apply, what you earn, and how to apply before the last date.
Quick answer: Any graduate aged 20 to 28 (as on 01.09.2026) who passed their degree between 01.01.2023 and 01.09.2026 and has at least 60% in 12th or Diploma can apply. Register on NATS first, then apply on the Canara Bank website between 1 and 17 October 2026.

Canara Bank has announced 3,500 training seats across India. These are provisional and may change as per the Bank's requirements.

Who is eligible for Canara Bank apprentice 2026?
A degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
Degree passed between 01.01.2023 and 01.09.2026.
Age 20 to 28 years as on 01.09.2026, with relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 10 years for PwBD.
Minimum 60% in 12th or Diploma (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
No earlier apprenticeship, and no job or training experience of one year or more after your degree.
If you studied Tamil in 10th or 12th, you do not need to take the local language test. Others take it at Document Verification.
How to apply for Canara Bank apprentice in Tamil Nadu
Register on NATS (nats.education.gov.in) and complete your profile to 100%. Note your enrollment ID.
Apply on the Bank's website (canarabank.bank.in, then Careers, then Recruitment). Enter your NATS enrollment ID and choose Tamil Nadu. You can pick only one state.
Upload and pay. Keep your photo, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration ready. The fee is Rs. 500, and nil for SC/ST/PwBD.
No other mode of application is accepted. Apply early, because websites slow down near the deadline.
Canara Bank apprentice stipend: is it a permanent job?
The stipend is Rs. 16,650 per month for 12 months. This includes Rs. 10,500 from the Bank and Rs. 6,150 as the Government share, paid by DBT. Apprentices are not Bank employees, and the Bank has no obligation to offer regular employment afterwards. You do get a NATS joint certificate on completion, which is useful experience on your resume.
How are candidates selected?
The merit list is state-wise, based on your 12th or Diploma percentage. If two candidates have the same percentage, the older one ranks higher. Final selection needs document verification, the local language test where applicable, and medical fitness. Only the details you enter online count, so fill the form carefully. Write your name exactly as on your 10th mark sheet.
Do not sign in capital letters, and write the declaration in your own handwriting.
After FINAL SUBMIT, nothing can be changed. Use SAVE AND NEXT to check.
Confirm all updates on the official Canara Bank and NATS websites only.
FAQ
Is NATS registration compulsory for Canara Bank apprentice 2026?Yes. The notification says candidates must register on the NATS portal and have a 100% complete profile before applying. No other mode of application will be accepted, so complete NATS first and keep your enrollment ID handy for the Bank's form.
Can I apply with any degree?Yes, any degree from a recognised university is accepted. You must have passed it between 01.01.2023 and 01.09.2026. The Bank also checks your 12th or Diploma percentage, which should be at least 60%, or 55% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.
Is the Canara Bank apprenticeship a government job?No. It is a 12-month apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Apprentices are not treated as Bank employees and do not get employee benefits. The Bank is not obliged to offer a job afterwards, so treat it as paid training and experience.
What is the last date to apply? Online registration runs from 01.10.2026 to 17.10.2026, both days inclusive. Since you must finish NATS first and then fill the Bank's form with uploads and payment, start well before the last day.
